I was up at 7am this morning. I have been getting up early to see if I can avoid getting bad jet lag coming back, we'll see how that works out.

I finally got my running shoes on today and went for a short run I found during our last visit. It's sort of an out and back over the two nearby bridges: the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. I was treated to a beautiful sunrise. It was still quite warm outside, I only needed to wear a t-shirt and shorts, without any base layers for once.

At this time of morning, there wasn't many people about. I went past a lot of filming vans parked down by the Brooklyn Bridge. I snapped a couple of nice photos before making my way over to Brooklyn. The rush hour traffic was just getting going. Coming back, you also get the noise of the subway running over the bridge two. Quite the atmosphere.

I was able to get back by 8am. Kathryn was already up and I quickly got ready. We went out for breakfast, and then made our way over to the 9/11 museum. We had done this before. However, it was really too busy to appreciate all the exihibits. And therefore, way made a concerted effeort this time to get there for opening to make sure we beat the crowds.

We actually spent 2 hours in there this time. Most of the contents is merely artefacts that have been kept from ground zero. There was some good eye witness interviews that added some depth to the exhibits. Once we were done, we headed back to the apaprtment for some lunch.

In the afternoon, we headed up to Rockafella Center and 5th Avenue to do some shopping. The forecast was for rain today, but in the end we didn't have any. We popped into a few shops, I bought some clothes, and then we headed back downtown again. We had a drink at the Trinity Bar that Kathryn likes.

Once we got back, we headed to the roof terrace of Smiti's building to check out the views. It was closed for refurbishment last time we stayed. Kathryn cooked us some pizzas for dinner, before we watched a movie in the evening.
