Right, this is the blog post I've left to write a week after we got back, so bear with me, we could be a bit light on the details.
Today we had our first adventure on the river ferry. At the end of Smiti's street, you arrive at the East River. And along the riverfront is Pier 11, this is terminal for the ferry. There are 5 different routes running up and down the river. Kathryn has a history of getting seasick, so we just rode the ferry across the river to Brooklyn. I'd seen this on a travel vlog I had watched beforehand.

We went for another coffee and light breakfast beforehand. No photos of that, I know you have seen that before. We got the ferry at 10:05, it costs $2.75, so not expensive. We had an impressive view of the Brooklyn Bridge as we rode over to the other side of the river.

Kathryn was feeling fine, so we actually rode the ferry an extra stop down from the Brooklyn Bridge. We then walked back along the shoreline. There is lots of recreational areas along the river and on the piers, although today they were very quiet.

Once we got back to the Brooklyn Bridge, we decided to keep walking back over the Manhattan using the bridge. I got a quick photo of this iconic view showing the Manhattan Bridge which is a popular tourist spot, especially now social media is so popular.

We came back to the appartment for lunch. It was really getting quite warm by now. And given the fact it was sunny as well yesterday, our skin was feeling a bit red! For the afternoon we decided to go to Soho, which stands for South of Houston (Street). It is an older and less developed part of New York, which is known for its shops.

Once we got off the subway at Sprint Street, we were suprised to walk into the middle of a film set. I had seen some other filming earlier on, but this time the scale seemed a lot bigger! We couldn't really find any information out, other than the fact the project was titled Finster. It was clearly set in the 80s though, there was fake posters from Back to the Future and other 80s films posted on the walls. They also were using old cars, and cycling them back around the block between shots. It was quite interesting to see how that was all set up.

We didn't actually buy anything, we had a coffee, and then headed back for dinner.

For the last evening, we went back to Manhatta, it was still pretty quiet up there. We managed to get a couple of glasses of champagne during the happy hour, is it was a weekday before 6pm. We had a lovely time and went home about 8:30pm, I think we were in there fore about 3 hours!

Simon was very relaxed when we got back. We made the mistake of turning on the tv to see President Trump had announced the travel ban to Europe. Initially it looks like all travel was banned, but after reading some of the small print we realised we would still be able to get home tomorrow.
